Experience the best of West Malaysia in the diverse peninsular with this 11-day overland tour from Kuala Lumpur to Penang. Traversing through 7 out of the 11 states in West Malaysia, making stops & visit interesting venues along the way including the green and modern Kuala Lumpur, historical Malacca, scenic Kuantan, tranquil Kuala Terengganu, peaceful historic Taiping, gastronomic Penang. Diverse sights and sounds are ready for your memorable epic journey.

About This Tour Package: This is an active overland tour which involves driving looping the northern states of Peninsular Malaysia from east coast and end in Penang on the west coast. Each state has its own uniqueness and at each of the stopovers you would experience different cultures and cuisines. The driving distance averages 200km per drive on a transfer day, with stops along the way.

Overnight at Melia Hotel

Breakfast at hotel. Proceed for Kuala Lumpur City Tour. Drive Pass National Museum, China Town & Lake Garden. Photo Stop: National Monument, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, King’s Palace, Independence Square, Twin Tower and National Mosque. Visit: Handicraft Centre & KL Tower Observation Deck. Our last stop will be at the limestone hills of Batu Caves.
Overnight at Melia Hotel

Breakfast at Hotel. Check out from hotel and proceed with Malacca. Visit the St.Paul’s hill for a view of straits and the ruins of St.Paul’s Church. Stop at Stadhuys or as they call it The Dutch Square, stroll along the Jonkers Street or otherwise known as the antique row, enjoy the local famous Enjoy a Peranakan lunch. Evening enjoy seafood dinner at local Portuguese settlement.
Overnight at Hatten Hotel

After breakfast proceed by land to Kuantan. Stop at Beserah fishing village to see villagers process their catch to salted fish, a local delicacy. Kuantan the state capital is situated on the banks of the Kuantan river mouth. Pass by the Royal Pahang Golf Club house and mini zoo at Taman Teruntum which houses some native animals like peacock, deer and sun-pheasants. Visit a colorful Hindu temple and photographic the new State Mosque enrooted. Enjoy a stop a cottage industry and watch the intricate art of Batik making. After tour transfer to hotel for check in and enjoy dinner at Local Restaurant.
Overnight at Grand Continental Kuantan Hotel

After breakfast overland to Terengganu, experience the cultural sights of Kuala Terengganu. The colourful food markets showcase the wide array of spices, fruits and seafood that make the region famous for its fresh food and distinctive cooking style. Next stop the fishing village of Seberang Takir seeing different cottage industries such as small fish farms, prawn-cracker making and batik printing. Visit Princess Hill. Nearby you can see the sultan’s palace and state mosque, although these are normally closed to the public. After the climb you will take a well-deserved lunch at a local restaurant. A particularly unique place to visit just outside Terengganu is Pulau Duyong. On this island the legendary boat builder Abdulla Muda has been making hand crafted wooden boats, all made from memory, for the last 50 years.
Overnight at Grand Continental Terengganu

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Taiping. Explore the centuries old buildings and arcades with barely any foot traffic. The highlight here is undoubtedly the Lake Gardens – a tranquil area at the edge of town with views of Maxwell Hill in the distance. View the decades-old rain trees here which have branches almost touching the lake. As one of the major settlements in Malaya during colonial times, Taiping has a fine collection of 19th century and early 20th century buildings. Overnight at Novotel Taiping

After breakfast, checkout and start the day early to explore Maxwell Hill (Bukit Larut) for some cooler climes as well as awesome views. Bukit Larut Hill Resort, or Maxwell Hill, was created in the 1880s under the direction of William Edward Maxwell who was Assistant Resident of Perak at the time. He found this location, with its cool climate and splendid views, at over 1000m above sea level in the hills overlooking the town of Taiping. A stop at the Antong Coffee Mill at the city outskirts is worthwhile for coffee lover. You can witness coffee beans being roasted the traditional way and buy some to bring home. Dating back from 1933, this is supposedly the oldest coffee mill in Malaysia. Proceed to Penang.
Overnight at Golden Sands Resort

Proceed for Penang Hill and temple. Visit the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia, the Kek Lok Si Temple, also known as the “Temple of Supreme Bliss”. Enjoy a breath-taking sight of the Gigantic Goddess of Mercy Bronze Statue overlooking the entire temple precinct and its vicinity, then take a stroll up the seven-storey Pagoda which houses over 10,000 Buddha statues. From here, head to the highest peak of Penang, the must-visit Penang Hill, where the oldest British hill station in the region was established. Enjoy a ride on the Funicular Cable up the hill, where you’ll be amazed by the magnificent panoramic view of Penang.
